COVID-19 Appointment Protocol

During this time your appointment may look a little bit different. While you can still expect the same friendly communication and personal touches that make our office unique we want you to feel prepared for your upcoming appointments. The following will breakdown what an appointment will look like at Great Northwest Dental.

Pre-screening

All patients will be screened in accordance with ADA guidelines prior to every appointment. We will direct you to our website to answer our screening questionnaire and sign the consent to treatment. Your answers will help us determine your risk of being infectious. If you need any help filling out this form, please contact our office.

If you need to fill out new or updated medical history forms, you must do so online prior to coming to the office. Please contact us should you need any help with this.

Once all online forms are complete and you pass the screening, our front office team member will happily confirm the scheduled appointment for you.New Paragraph

Pre-treatment

Please call the office once you arrive in our parking lot. One of our business team members will let you know when you may enter the building. There may be times you are asked to wait in your car until we are ready for you.

We will make every effort to stay on time with you and with every dental appointment. However, please be aware that unexpected delays may occur. We kindly ask that you remain in your car until we are ready for you.

When we are ready, a member of our team will greet you at the door and take your temperature. We may ask you the questions from the questionnaire to make sure nothing has changed. Please be responsible with the health and safety of others and please notify us if there are any changes in your symptoms since filling out the screening questionnaire.

We ask that you use our hand sanitizer and put on a mask. If you do not have one, we are happy to supply one for you.

You may notice our office looks a little different. We have removed magazines and eliminated the number of chairs to ensure safety and adequate space for social distancing.

A member of our team is consistently disinfecting door handles and countertops to further ensure the safety of both you and our team.

You will also notice many medical grade HEPA air purifiers throughout the office. These filters improve air quality and help eliminate airborne and virus particles.

As one of our clinical team members walks you back to the operatory, our business personnel will hold your payment method at the front office. This process best minimizes contact, keeping you and our team members safe. Your payment will not be processed until the procedure is over and an amount is confirmed.

Please use the restroom near the reception area prior to entering the operatory if necessary.

Treatment

Once at the operatory, our clinical personnel will ask you to rinse with a solution that helps decrease the bacterial and viral load in your mouth. This rinse is to be used for 60 seconds. A team member will remove the rinse from your mouth using suction. We kindly ask that you do not expectorate into a cup or the sink.

Please keep your mask on at all times unless directed by one of our team members.

We have in place both high speed and slow speed suction in place to assist in the reduction and removal of aerosols created during the procedure.

All disposable materials are discarded immediately after each procedure.

Non disposable materials are disinfected and sterilized immediately after use.

You may notice our team in extra PPE that was not worn before. This is both for your safety and theirs.

Post-treatment

After treatment is complete, we ask that you wash your hands and replace your mask.

Our team member will escort you to the front where you can pick up your payment method and receipt.

Upon exiting you are welcome to discard your mask in the receptacle provided. You are also welcome to keep it.

Hand sanitizer will be available to you on your way out.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call. We welcome all feedback. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of care, utilizing the latest technology in a family friendly environment, while exceeding all safety expectations and protocols available.

The safety of our patients and team is a top priority. We appreciate your commitment to working within these protocols to help us provide high quality care in the safest environment possible.
